Privacy Policy

Welcome to SkillBearings (powered by the Polvo graph engine). We are deeply committed to individual data sovereignty, radical transparency, and privacy-by-design foundations. This Privacy Policy outlines exactly how we collect, handle, and secure your personal capabilities and evidence records during this closed, invite-only design cohort.

If you have additional questions or would like more information about our privacy policy or how we handle user data and personal information, or if you wish to withdraw your consent to the continued collection, use or disclosure of your personal information, please contact us.

The Data Controller & Operational Transition

SkillBearings is currently operated as a private, personal project by its co-founders, residing in Viana do Castelo, Portugal. This project serves as an experimental pre-incorporation pilot phase.

As part of our commitment to absolute data residency and technological autonomy, we are actively working toward transitioning this personal project into a dedicated, sovereign European corporate entity (such as a Portuguese Lda.) hosted securely within European infrastructure partners like Infomaniak. All data gathered during this personal pilot is structured from day one to live safely within this sovereign European ecosystem.

Information We Collect

Because we are conducting a hands-on, concierge-style pilot to test the core logic of our framework, we do not deploy automated online tracking cookies, scripts, or analytics dashboards.

We only receive information that you directly and voluntarily choose to share with us. This includes:

  • Foundational Background Records: Your current resumes, CVs, professional biographies, LinkedIn profiles, or portfolio summaries.
  • Unstructured Activity Logs: Descriptions of your regular project deliverables, milestone saves, continuing education, volunteer achievements, and shifting personal goals.
  • Communication Overlays: Any raw text blocks, links, project templates, screenshots, or voice memos you submit to us via the channels you naturally live in including Slack, Email, LinkedIn messaging, or WhatsApp.

How We Process Your Data (Human-in-the-Loop Curation)

We fundamentally oppose the black-box algorithms and blind automated filtering used by traditional corporate HR databases. To process your unstructured data accurately while protecting your unique human voice, we follow a strict "Deterministic Core, AI at the Edges" methodology:

  • AI-Assisted Drafting (The Fuzzy Edge): We utilize advanced processing tools, specifically Google Gemini and Infomaniak’s Euria AI, strictly at the preliminary edge of our workflow. These models are used solely to interpret inherently fuzzy data, such as unformatted notes, emails, or conversation transcripts, and assist us in extracting initial draft capability and evidence fields.
  • No Autonomous Evolution: Our AI tools are restricted from making autonomous mutations or automated updates to your profile. The models do not independenty decide your competency, scoring, or compliance.
  • Human-Vetted Finalization: Every single draft generated by an artificial intelligence assistant must pass through explicit human review, boundary validation, and final confirmation by the co-founders before it can be written to the database.
  • Relational Graph Architecture: Once finalized, your achievements are mapped as interconnected context nodes inside our private, decoupled Neo4j graph database. Every capability is structured using the behavior-based Dreyfus competency framework, tracking progress from Novice to Expert.
  • Privacy Isolation: The AI models we use operate under data privacy protections ensuring that your private inputs, data logs, and notes are never used to train public machine learning models.

Absolute Data Sovereignty & Your Rights (GDPR Alignment)

Because we operate from within the European Union, we align this project directly with the core values and individual protection requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). As a design partner, you retain ultimate custody of your data.

  • The Right to Audit: During our bi-weekly alignment conversations, you have full access to inspect, modify, expand, or contest how your skills, timelines, and evidence context are structured in the database.
  • The Right to Absolute Erasure: You can withdraw from this personal pilot at any time. If you wish to destroy your ledger, you can notify us or simply type "Delete my ledger" across any of our communication channels (Slack, WhatsApp, Email, or LinkedIn). All of your raw files, data notes, meeting segments, and database nodes will be permanently and completely expunged from our records within 72 hours.

Security & Isolation Guardrails

Your personal records are hosted on isolated development and deployment nodes, completely independent of mainstream corporate cloud providers.

We strictly enforce a policy where your private call notes, project descriptions, or text logs are never used to train mass-market, open-ended artificial intelligence algorithms or public products without a separate, explicit consent scope. We heavily insulate your data, and we do not trade, sell, or commercialize your personal data graph for behavioral advertising networks or algorithmic tracking matrices.
